Baby Luka: Before and After at 2nd Milk

Thanksgiving is only one week away and we want to take a moment to say just how thankful we are for our sponsors. Your generosity and compassion has overwhelmed our hearts! You have saved the lives of numerous children this year and we want to take a moment to highlight one of them.

After only 5 weeks in the 2nd Milk program, Luka is much healthier and has a bright future ahead.

After only 5 weeks in the 2nd Milk program, Luka is much healthier and has a bright future ahead.

This is Luka Charles. He was added to our gallery on October 12th of this year. Yes, just over one month ago. Today he is well on his way to a bright and healthy future because you care enough to financially support him and spread the word of 2nd Milk’s work in Malawi.

The following is what one of our local Malawian caregivers wrote about Luka when he first came to the 2nd Milk program:

“Luka Charles was born on August 26th, 2015.  Sadly, his mother has HIV and has given it to baby Luka.  Because of his mothers disease he isn’t able to take his mothers milk and therefore is very sick and malnourished.  He weighs just 5lbs.  His father is also very poor and without work so they are not able to purchase any formula without the help of 2nd Milk.”

You have changed Luka’s life.

Today you have an opportunity to give life to another very sick baby who just came to us. This is Esimy. Can you believe this baby girl is 3 months old? She only weighs 5lbs. Here is her story from our local caregiver:

“Esimy was born on August 13th, 2015 and weighs just over 5lbs. Her mother is actually still alive but because she is so malnourished herself she has no milk to feed baby Esimy. She has been admitted to the district hospital several times because of severe malnutrition and she urgently is in need of formula. Her parents cannot afford formula because they have nothing left to sell and neither have jobs to provide for their family.”

Consider sponsoring sweet Esimy this giving season. Like Luka, she needs you and you have the ability to change her life forever.
