Angella James Baby Formula Sponsorship
Angella was born on April 1, 2021. She is 4 months old joining our program and only 11 lbs. She is from Nsundwe feeding center. Her mother, Ivy, died in July. She was complaining of a headache and she went to the hospital but the headache was persistent. Then she had stomach pains and she was given medicaiton at the hospital but she did not get better. In July, she again went to the hospital and was diagnosed with ulcers and was admitted. She ended up dying at the hospital 3 days later. The doctors said the ulcers had spread fro the stomach to the chest and it was too late to save her.
Currently the baby is stayin gwith her aunt who has 2 children of her own. At first, the aunt was doing a business selling tomatoes but taking care of the baby has stopped her from making the distance to the market because it's too far to manage riding a bicycle and carrying the baby and basket of tomatoes won't work. Her husband is doing piece work but can't manage to feed the family and buy formula and other necessities for the baby. Their children also go to school so there are a lot of things they need as well. The father of the baby is alive and helps whenever he has a little something to give. Angella has 2 siblings who are staying with their granny and they also go to school and lack school fees along with other needs.

First, know that 100% of your sponsorship dollars actually goes to the babies. A sponsorship provides real tangible things like daily formula, bottles, new clothes, medical care, and a porridge full of vita-meal. This may sound like the same story you have heard over and over again but rest assured it isn’t.
This sponsorship will save the life of the baby you just sponsored. We aren’t a ministry that gives a bowl of maize once per day and say we are feeding children. The 2ndMilk children get the same nutrition daily that your children receive because at the end of the day we don’t feel they deserve anything less.
SIGNS OF ACUTE MALNUTRITION
Acute malnourishment comes in many forms and at times it can even be hard to see while other times it may be very hard for us to look at a child experiencing severe malnourishment. Sure, we have all seen the tiny baby with droopy skin and bones but we also see a lot of babies that are experiencing a protein deficiency called Kwashiorkor. This causes their stomachs to swell as well as their legs and feet.
HOW DOES FORMULA HELP?
We all know and understand that infants require either mothers milk or a formula that allows them to receive the nutrients and vitamins their bodies require for proper growth. We purchase our powdered formula in the countries we work in to help the local economy and allow our teams to have quick access to the truckloads of formula we purchase monthly.
